Five Peruvian hotels were rated as the Best Central & South America Hotels, according to a list published by the U.S. travel magazine Travel+Leisure, which asked its readers to cast their votes for their favorite hotels worldwide.
Lima-based Belmond Miraflores Park ranks first in the “City Hotels” category. JW Marriott Hotel, also in Lima, secured fifth place and Cusco’s Belmond Hotel Monasterio took sixth spot in the same list.
As for the “Resorts” category, Inkaterra Machu Picchu Pueblo Hotel and Belmond Machu Picchu Sanctuary Lodge ranked third and fourth, respectively, in the list.
Travel + Leisure's World's Best Awards are among the most renowned in the travel industry since it is the readers who determine superior quality in hospitality and travel.
As part of the awards, readers rate their experiences and assess hotels all over the world on the following features: Rooms and facilities, location, service, restaurants, food and value.
Belmond Miraflores Park (based in Lima) has been rated higher than Four Seasons Hotel, Alvear Palace Hotel (Buenos Aires), Belmond Copacabana Palace (Rio de Janeiro) and the Ritz-Carlton (Santiago).
The five Peruvian hotels maintain their presence compared to last year, placed at the head of the list.
