Peru climbs up to 46th position in FIFA ranking

The Peruvian national soccer team climbed 15 spots in the World Ranking released by FIFA and currently holds 46th position.

The result was released after the team displayed an outstanding performance in the latest Copa America Chile 2015 tournament.

Argentina also was favored. Despite being defeated by Chile in the finals, it reached 1st spot ousting Germany, the current world champion.

Chile, the tournament’s winner, also managed to climb up 8 spots and reached the 11th position.

Others South American nations, which did better in the ranking, were: Paraguay (56th), Venezuela (45th) and Bolivia (66th).

Colombia is still ranked 4th. Brazil went down to the 6th position. Uruguay was ranked 13th and Ecuador 35th.
