Peru President welcomed by Spanish Royals in Madrid

Peruvian President Ollanta Humala was officially welcomed by Spanish King Felipe VI and Princess Letizia on the sidelines of his state visit to Madrid and during a ceremony held in the courtyards of El Pardo Royal Palace.

 

According to TV Peru, the Spanish Royals extended a warm greeting to the visiting Head of State, who was accompanied by his wife Nadine Heredia; a first exchange of views took place at that moment. 

 

The anthems of Peru and Spain were played and a 21-gun salute was performed in their honor immediately thereafter.

 

Afterwards, Humala Tasso and Felipe VI reviewed the honorary company, greeted delegations of the two countries and watched the march-past of the Spanish Royal Guard.

 

The Peruvian leader is joined by Peru’s Primer Minister Pedro Cateriano, Foreign Affairs Minister Ana Maria Sanchez and Foreign Trade and Tourism Minister Magali Silva.
