Electricity grew 5.40% in May, marked 67 months of expansion

Electricity in Peru increased by 5.40% in May 2015, continuing a positive trend dating back more than five years, the Head of the National Institute of Statistics and Informatics (INEI) Alejandro Vilchez said.

This way, he added, the sub-sector saw 67 months of consecutive growth.

Vilchez informed of sectoral productivity growth rates based on the data provided by the Ministry of Energy and Mines (MEM) and cement producing companies.

It should be noted electricity was up 5.72% in April, recording 4 straight months of economic expansion since the beginning of the year, according to INEI.
