The official visit of Peruvian President Ollanta Humala to Spain will include a series of activities such as meetings with King Felipe VI, President Mariano Rajoy, as well as Spanish deputies and businessmen.
According to the preliminary program, the Peruvian Head of State will arrive on Monday, July 6, at the Adolfo Suarez Madrid-Barajas Airport, where he will be welcomed by representatives of Spain's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Peruvian Ambassador to that country, Rafael Roncagliolo.
Then, the Head of State will be received Tuesday, July 7, by King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia at El Pardo Palace.
Joined by his ministers, Mr. Humala will later meet with representatives of the Spanish Confederation of Employers Organizations, or CEOE, at its venue.
The meeting is aimed at giving a clear message about the soundness of Peruvian economy and continuity of the country’s growth strategy, irrespective of next year elections’ results.
Afterwards, the President will attend the presentation “Mochica art of ancient Peru - Gold, myths and rituals”, a collection from Lima’s Larco Museum.
In the afternoon, the Peruvian dignitary will meet with King Felipe VI at La Zarzuela Palace.
He will have lunch with the Spanish Royals and then head to Lealtad Square, where a ceremony in tribute to the fallen will be held. He will visit Madrid’s City Hall after that.
Grupo Prisa has organized a breakfast with businessmen for Wednesday, July 8, and he plans to attend the opening ceremony of the event “Agenda Forum Peru. In the Future.”
It should be noted President Humala will visit the Congress of Deputies, where he will be honored with a medal.
After that, he is due to open a Peruvian Consulate General in Madrid and then head to the Moncloa Palace to meet his Spanish counterpart Mariano Rajoy.
Bilateral agreements will be signed before they address a joint press conference.
