Why USMNT vs. Peru at RFK stadium is a can’t-miss game

Now that the U.S. Men’s national soccer team’s friendly against Peru has been formally announced, you can officially get excited. If you plan to go to one soccer game at RFK Stadium all year, this one gets you the most bang for your buck — for two reasons.

One — as noted by many when the U.S. Soccer Federation chose Washington, D.C., as its venue for its centennial celebration — RFK is of the best, if not the best, venue to see the USMNT play in the country. Second, the match falls in an official FIFA fixture window (Aug. 31 – Sept. 8), meaning that in theory, all players should be available for head coach Jurgen Klinsmann to select.
