Ambassador Pareja and Governor McAuliffe discussed trade relations between the Commonwealth of Virginia and Peru

Governor Terry McAuliffe travelled to Washington, DC on Thursday, November 3 to meet Ambassador Carlos Pareja and to visit the Embassy of Peru in the US.

Ambassador Pareja and Governor McAuliffe discussed trade relations between the Commonwealth of Virginia and Peru and the mutual wish to intensify these relations through visits and personal contacts. The Peruvian ambassador also expressed the importance to boost community affairs and support Peruvian students studying in Virginia. Currently, there are more than 40,000 Peruvians living in the Commonwealth.

Governor McAuliffe was accompanied by Secretary of Commerce and Trade Todd Haymore and Director of Intergovernmental Affairs Maribel Ramos, a Peruvian herself.
